The trustees were delighted to be able to support the St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Learning Disability Project.
St Wilfred’s Hospice reported
“The hospice has been particularly busy in the last year and at the height of the pandemic our patient numbers were up 18%. We have continued to care for patients with Covid-19 until very recently and have procedures in place to care for further people with the illness if needed. We were delighted to receive £1,500 from the trust last year towards our Learning Disability Project. We are happy to update that this project began in February (after a slight delay due to Covid) with the recruitment of a Learning Disability Specialist Nurse. She has been working hard getting the project up and running and providing training for staff to ensure that patients and family members with learning disabilities receive the best care.”
